Fernando Zunzunegui is an independent lawyer and consultant, specialized in Financial Law, recommended by Chambers & Partners as leader in their field, Regulatory Advisor of EFPA Spain, member of the FECIF Advisory Committee and President of the FinSalud foundation. He has been Chairman of European Union’s financial services expert group FIN-USE. He has also worked as international advisor, participating in projects for the Word Bank and Inter-American Development Bank. He is a Professor of Banking and Securities Law at the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid. He holds a Ph.D. in Banking Law, a master in Company and Bankruptcy Law, and degrees in Law and Economics. Previously, he was the legal advisor of the Spanish Central Securities Depository (SCLV/Iberclear). He is the author of the reference book for professionals and students, Financial Market Law (Derecho del Mercado Financiero), and other books and articles on financial regulation, and further more he is frequent contributor and columnist in the economic press in Spain.
